Often just called Bitterroot Lake, Little Bitterroot Lake, is located on 2,969.8 acres with a length of 11.4 miles of shore length. The average depth is 114 feet. To many in this area, this lake is known for its lunker trout. The area is 95% private ownership. The lake is north off Hwy. 2, just west of Kalispell about 20 miles and 70 miles to Libby. The small community of Marion, Montana is where you turn to the north to reach the lake. There is a small dam that lets water out to form the Little Bitterroot river not to be confused with the Bitterrroot River in Ravalli County south of Missoula.
